BMW X3 M may feature tri-turbocharged petrol engine

According to “well placed” sources, BMW is looking to launch an X3 M by Spring 2012.

The performance–orientated model may utilise a tri-turbocharged (one electric and two exhaust-gas powered) 3.2 litre inline 6-cylinder petrol engine that may develop upto 449bhp (455PS/335kW).

While the current range-topping X3 xDrive30d M-Sport weights in at £39,625, the newcomer may feature a hefty sticker price of £50,000.
