2007 Hyundai Arnejs On Test

Hyundai's competitor in the C-Segment market in Europe has now been spied for the first time. The Arnejs concept (pronouced Ar-nez) made its world deubt at the Paris Motorshow this year.

Hyundai said the concept will be hinting at the production model. The concept was also caught parked outside the Paris motorshow venue.

This is only a prototype vehicle but a pre-production model is definatley hinted at the concept was caught alongside with the Kia Cee'd SW in Eastern Europe.

Although numerous prototypes are now circulating Europe, this is the first close up picture and if you look closely you can just about make out the interior.

The Arnejs and Cee'd will be taking on the crowded small family car catagory in Europe. The Cee'd is priced around £11,000 and the Arnejs should be priced around £11,000 aswell.

2007 Mercedes C-Class Sedan Snapped

We've already seen some production ready 07 Mercedes C-Class in its factory in Germany and now we have a pre production test car on the streets of Germany. Underneath all this thin disguise is a executive sedan ready to take on the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Saab 9-3/Cadillac BLS.

2008 Jaguar XJ Facelift Snagged

It looks like the 2008 Jaguar XJ sedan will be getting a few styling updates as it undegoes cold weather testing in England. Although most of the bodywork on this prototype appears unchanged, the front airdam has a slightly different shape compared to current models. It's also clear that this test car is wearing the side vents currently used only on the top of the line Portfolio model. Changes in back look as though they'll be nothing more than a slightly reshaped bumper valance.

2008 Mini Cabriolet Spied!

Spy photographers have captured the first photos of the second-generation Mini Convertible, caught testing on the streets of Munich. As with its hard-roofed counterparts, the new drop-top Mini doesn't stray far the design of the current model. The larger dimensions of the Gen-II Mini should certainly help to accommodate the folded soft top when in open-air mode, and rear passengers should benefit, too.

As on the current Mini Convertible, this new model maintains the bottom-hinged tail-gate. Comapring this prototype to the current cabrio suggests that the new Mini's soft-top has a slightly smoother profile, thanks to reduced intrusion from the top's understructure.
BMW revealed the new 2007 Mini Cooper in August. The new Mini Convertible will arrive in 2008 as a 2009 model. BMW may preview it at the Detroit Motor Show this January.

2008 BMW X6 Crossover Spied!

Judging from this prototype we photographed in Germany, it appears that BMW has started development work on the X6–a new model spun off from the recently-released X5. This new performance-minded crossover appears to have taken the philosophy of the Mercedes CLS four-door- coupe, utilizing a sloped roof-line and and tauter packaging in the name of style. Sober concerns such as functionality and cargo capacity have been left to the X5, which has grown larger and more versatile in its recent second-generation redesign. From the looks of it, this X6 has been styled to match the bravado of cars like the Range Rover Sport, which take the SUV in a decidedly athletic direction.

The heavy camouflage obviously hides the nuances of the design, but the prototype’s smooth profile, steeply raked windshield, high waistline and slim greenhouse are readily apparent. The sloping roof arc is expected to continue straight into a coupe-like hoffmeister kink, bringing a little of the Z4 coupe into the crossover zone. One look at the chiseled ground-effects between the wheels also hints at some pronounced fender swells that should add to the sporting look.

When we first shot this prototype, speculation began on the exact identity of this vehicle, since another X5 spin-off–the V5–is said to be in the works. But the V5 is supposed to be a uniquely space- efficient vehicle in the guise of Mercedes’ R-Class, and this prototype doesn’t seem to fit that description. Given the success of the Range Rover Sport in the marketplace, and the lukewarm launch of the R-Class, BMW appears to be making the right move in putting the X6 ahead of the V5 in the development cycle. The X6 is likely still two years away from showrooms. The fact that it will share elements of the X5, that time-frame could be accelerated a bit.

2007 Hyundai Equus/Dynasty

Ok, Hyundai is now saying that this large luxury sedan will not be sold in Europe although Hyundai did test the sedan in Germany, but it should make it in the US by 2008 with both a 3.8 litre V6 and a 4.5 litre V8.

Hyundai is also claiming to compete with the Lexus LS, BMW 7 series and Mercedes S Class, Volkswagen Phaeton, Cadillac DTS (US maket), Audi A8 etc. Prices should be around $50,000

2007 Ford Escape Undisguised for the first time!

Well here it is in full production trim, the 2008 Ford Escape. We've seen various prototypes of this lightly redesigned SUV over the past year, but now the refreshed Escape looks ready for its debut at the L.A. auto show later this month. Changes to the exterior are obvious while the interior upgrades are harder to spot. Not surprisingly the cabin looks similar to the already unveiled Mercury Mariner although the Escape has less brightwork and cheaper looking black plastic trim. Look for the 2008 Ford Escape to go on sale early next year.

2007 Mercedes GLK plays hide & seek

Here are the first pictures of Mercedes’ upcoming compact SUV, the GLK, which will be competing against the successful BMW X3 and Audi's, soon to be, Q5.

At first sight the test car looks like a disguised GL, but in reality it is one of the first real prototypes – not a mule - of the smaller GLK (short version of GL, K from the German kurz = short).

The GLK is using technical components from the yet to come new Mercedes C-Class, which is set to debut in March 2007, and it will stay very close in design to the recently launched GL-Class.

Possibly the GLK will debut as a 2008 model on the IAA car show in Frankfurt in September 2007, however Geneva 2008 sounds more reasonable.

Power is expected to come from four and six cylinder engines, both petrol and diesel, and later on there could be a V8 powered GLK 55 AMG version too. While the competitors from Munich and Ingolstadt only offer their SUVs with all-wheel drive, Mercedes will offer the car in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, with the GLK 220 CDI as the basis rear-wheel drive version and the GLK 280 as a petrol alternative. The all-wheel drive versions will be the GLK 350 with 272 bhp and the GLK 320 CDI with 224 bhp. All versions are expected to have the 7G-Tronic, TouchShift automatic transmission.

The chassis of the GLK is almost the same as the 4matic version of the new C-Class station wagon, except for bigger wheels and longer springs. The new Direct-Control chassis will make the car’s handling much better than with SUVs in general, in particular when taking narrow turns. With an overall length of approximately 4,50 m, the GLK will be about 30 cm shorter than the Mercedes ML .

In 2005, Daimler-Chrysler announced that the small GLK will be built in Bremen/Germany rather than in the US plant that assembles the ML and GL. The yearly production rate is expected to be 40,000 units with starting prices of about 35,000 Euros.
While the US is slowly moving away from big SUVs, Mercedes is loosing market shares to small SUVs like the BMW X3. With this new GLK they are hoping to get back to the top again.
The photos are showing a prototype of the GLK during a very short trip on a public road outside of the company’s headquarters in Stuttgart before disappearing again behind the protecting walls of its home base.

2008 Audi A5 Coupe caught at the "ring"

Audi is developing an all new model with a prototype which can be seen on these photos during high speed testing in heavy rain at Germany’s race track Nürburgring. Dubbed “A5” (code AU 474/475) the new Audi will be a sporty coupe-convertible adapting the design of Audi’s concept car Nuvolari.

The showcar was on display at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003. The prototype photos show that the new coupe will be considerably larger than the current A4, almost the size of today’s A6. With the A5 Audi intends to be a step ahead of the strong A4 competitors such as BMW 3-series Cabrio, Mercedes CLK and the VW-Convertible Eos. Due to the bigger size, Audi is indeed about to fill a gap on the sporty CC-market. Neither the BMW 5-series, Mercedes E Class model ranges nor any other car maker in this class and size has a luxury coupe-convertible to offer.

The new Audi A5 convertible is going to be equipped with a traditional canvas top, power is expected to come from two engines, a 3.0 litre TDI V 6 and 3.2 litre FSI V6 fuel delivering 255 HP. The new model is expected to be released by the end of 2007.

2007 Skoda Fabia undisguised!

At the Paris Motor Show in September this year, Skoda officials confirmed that the Fabia will be replaced by a new model in early 2007, and here’s final prove that the company is at full throttle developing their very successful entry-level model.

Left- and right-hand-drive models are currently tested around the Mlada Boleslav factory almost every night. While the prototype still wears a bit of disguising on the lamp units front and rear and especially on the C-pillar, it’s clearly visible the new Fabia will get a front-end similar to the Roomster.

The black A and B-pillars add to a sportier look, and - although the outer dimensions of the car seem quite unchanged – it is obvious that the next Fabia generation’s styling is much younger and up to date compared to today’s conservative original. The new car will make its first public appearance at the 2007 Geneva Show, but we expect to see factory photos yet in January.

New Car: 2007 Fiat Bravo

On January 29, the new Fiat Bravo will be presented to the international media in Rome, going on the market all over Europe in the following weeks. The model is built in the Piedimonte S. Germano plant (Frosinone), and aims to become a benchmark in the most important segment of the European market. To achieve this goal, the Fiat Bravo has been designed and developed as the ideal synthesis of Beauty and Substance.Beauty as the most up-to-date expression of Italian styleDeveloped by the Fiat Style Centre, the exterior design of the model is unmistakably ‘Italian’, another step forward in the development of the brand’s new stylistic identity.

The new Bravo arouses emotions at first glance, and it welcomes driver and passengers aboard in a passenger compartment where they will appreciate the quality of the materials and the care dedicated to even the smallest detail. The Fiat Bravo cleverly combines a compact five-door body with an extraordinary amount of interior roominess: it is 434 centimetres long, 179 cm wide, and 149 cm high, with a wheelbase of 2.6 metres, and a loading capacity of 400 litres that tops its class.Substance in the form of an innovative, reliable, quality car The Fiat Bravo aims to be a car of ‘substance’, thanks to a lavish array of technological features and quality standards worthy of a higher class where safety, comfort and driving enjoyment are concerned.

The Fiat Bravo is an agile car that is entertaining to drive in every situation, thanks in part to the wide choice of engines, which include the popular turbodiesel 1.9 Multijets (120 and 150 bhp), the 90 bhp 1.4, and a new family of turbocharged T-JET petrol engines (120 and 150 bhp 1.4 Turbo) that now make their debut, combining low consumption and outstanding performance.

Next gen Fiat Doblo caught!

The facelifted model of the Fiat Doblo is on sale now in the UK and Europe but already a replacement is planned.

The commerical van will be designed in Turkey, Bursa and could be built there too.

Prototypes have already been running around in Italy and Turkey.

Judging by the spy picture it will have a curvy front end like the Renault Kangoo and similar radiator grille to the Fiat Grande Punto.

It will be growing in size but should be a similar size to the Renault Kangoo, VW Caddy and Citroen Berlingo.

2007 Skoda Octavia Facelift

It looks like the Skoda Octavia will go under the knife again for its 2nd facelift as this grainy picture shows when the vehicle was parked unattended in a car park in Czech Republic. The current facelifted model came out early this year.

Revised lights, bumpers and grilles will be part of the facelift.

The D-Segment car will take on the Volkswagen Passat, Toyota Avensis, Honda Accord, Vauxhall Vectra etc.

2007 Porsche Cayenne Nearing to Production

That's right! The Porsche Cayenne facelift is nearing to production as many of these prototypes are wearing light red tape over the actual lights. It should be deubting at the Frankfurt Motorshow in 2007.

2007 Renault Laguna III

The 2007 Renault Laguna is now finishing hot-weather testing in Southern Spain and starting cold weather testing.

This heavily disguised prototype was caught in Southern Spain during the hot months of summer. Despite Renaults best effort to disguise the rear lights we think the vehicle could have the rear lights vertically meaning it will go onto the bootlid like the 2006 Volkswagen Passat.

More prototypes have been sighted but this time it was free of heavy camoflague. Prices are set to rise alittle around £15,500 for the basic model. We don't think the 3.0 litre V6 will make it into production but if it does expect to pay around £25,000.

2008 Dacia Logan Station Wagon

Dacia Logan estate snapped testing in the French mountains:

Following Dacia’s step under the roof of Renault in 1998, the Romanian manufacturer has released its first new model, the Logan, in summer 2004. But that appears not to remain the only model of the range.

Rumours suggest a hatchback and we have now an almost production-ready prototype of the estate to follow in late 2006, with a Pickup version likely to follow a year later.
All variants will make use of the pair of engines available for the sedan offered yet today: a 1.4 and a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine developing 75 and 90 bhp respectively.

2007 Hyundai Getz Cross

At first it was a concept and now its going into production. The Hyundai Getz Cross will cost 15,000 Euro's which is around £13,000 to £14,000 GBP. It will go on sale in 2007.

Inside, Hyundai has gone with a blue coulor scheme with blue on the seats, doors and steering wheel.

More information will be posted....

2007 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

This photo was only taken a couple of days ago and it shows the fuel guzzling Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

The Cayenne is currently undergoing a minor facelift and should be persented at the Paris Motorshow later this month.

One thing thats stands out on the SUV is the new restyled headlamps. Larger and taller than the current model's headlamp the new ones should give te Cayenne a more aggressive and angrier look along with the restyled bumpers.

More information will be posted as soon as possible (ASAP)

2007 Lancia Ypsilon Facelift

Polished Letter

It’s has been quite some time since spy-shots of a Lancia prototype have surfaced, but here are the first pictures of the facelifted Lancia Ypsilon, due to be presented at the Geneva Show in March next year.

It is believed the engines and other mechanical systems will be left untouched, but the grille and the bumpers front and rear will get an overhaul losing the massive black plastic bars.
Headlamps and taillights as well as the fog-lights appear to be re-shaped, too, and we assume the Ypsilon’s interior will be freshened-up as well.

2008 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV

Volkswagen announced the official name of its new compact SUV last month, and now we bring you the first unofficial video of the 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan. Caught during hot-weather testing in Death Valley, California, the Tiguan shares its platform with the Rabbit and GTI hatchbacks. Power for base models will come from the same 200bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder used in the GTI with an upgrade to VW's 3.6-litre V6 a possible option.

The ForMotion all-wheel-drive system used in both the Passat and the upcoming R32 could be standard if Volkswagen wants to position the Tiguan further upscale than typical compacts like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V, both of which offer lower-cost front-wheel-drive models. Although European versions will have a manual transmission as standard, U.S versions will get a six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox as the sole option. Although the Tiguan is based on the Concept A, what little of the cabin we could see showed a fairly typical dash layout. There may be a few upgrades added to give the Tiguan a unique look and feel compared to its Rabbit and GTI cousins, but other than a few minor trim changes it will be a standard-issue Volkswagen design.

A third-row seat won't be available, but it looks as though second-row passenger room will be generous by compact-SUV standards. And just in case you're wondering, the name "Tiguan" is a made-up combination of "tiger" and "iguana." Volkswagen decided on the name after polling readers of a European automotive publication. Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Volkswagen's chairman, called it a "unique event [that is] demonstrative of how Volkswagen is opening up."

We call it a unique look at how clueless Volkswagen is when it comes to selling SUVs in the U.S. We won't see how the Tiguan name goes over here in the States for another two years as production doesn't begin until 2008.

New Car: 2007 Skoda Octavia Scout

Here it is. The Skoda Octavia Scout. This should be different from the Octavia 4x4 sold in Europe. I hope this has an all wheel drive (AWD). No information on it yet but prices around £16,500. Plastic SUV styled bodykit gives it a proper SUV look. Overall, it looks nice, modern and stylish and I won't mind owning one either.

2007 Mercedes GL63 AMG

Mercedes GL 63 AMG:

While Daimler-Chrysler’s largest new off roader GL-Class just about to arrive in dealerships, the even more powerful AMG version is currently being tested in the streets of Stuttgart. Just like all AMG models, it can be recognized from the two large double exhaust pipes and sportier air intakes in the front skirt It will also be equipped with a 6.3 litre V8 engine.

2007 Volkswagen CrossGolfPlus?

Thats right! Volkswagen is planning another crossover or SUV. Its believed that the VW GolfPlus will get another brother set to be called "CrossGolf" or "CrossGolfPlus". This CGI suggest that the new vehicle will be a GolfPlus but with SUV body kit.

I don't know where this will fit into the range because we have the CrossFox, CrossPolo, Tiguan (Golf based SUV) and last but not least Toaureg. If this will be put into production prices will start from £13,500 in the UK.

New Car: 2006 Fiat Doblo Adventure

Intended for the Brazilian market is the all-new Fiat Doblo Adventure. Based upon the very popular Doblo compact commercial van, the Adventure has plastic bodykit, giving the impression of a faux-4x4. Revised front bumper, roof-rails, external spare wheel and side-steps will be standard.

Availability of engines is only restricted to a petrol, which is mated to a manual transmission.

Next generation Kia Sorento spied?

Although the current Sorento just underwent a facelift, Kia is already testing the next-generation SUV. This time, as is obvious in these pictures, the Sorento is growing to accommodate three rows of seating. In addition to the larger size, the Sorento will also move upscale.

New Car: 2007 Mini Cooper & Cooper S

Due to enter the market in late 2006, the MINI Cooper is powered by a 1.6-litre normal-aspiration engine developing maximum output of 88 kW/120 hp, the MINI Cooper S comes with an even more powerful and dynamic 128 kW/175 hp turbocharged engine.

The “basic” version, the new MINI One, will be following in the first half of 2007, its 1.4-litre power unit developing maximum output of 70 kW/95 hp. And finally the range will be joined, also in the first half of 2007, by the new MINI Diesel featuring the most advanced and sophisticated turbodiesel technology.

The four-cylinder petrol engines come from a brand-new range of power units developed from a clean sheet of paper and boasting a number of highly innovative technical features. The interior is also brand-new in its design, while the exterior has been through a process of design evolution maintaining the unmistakable character of the MINI. Indeed, the specific features of the car’s body and interior now come out even more convincingly, clearly reflecting the typical character of the brand. And together with the modified chassis and suspension, the modern power units further sharpen the already legendary go-kart feeling so characteristic of the modern MINI.
At the same time it is not only the design and drive technology of the new model, but also the wide range of standard equipment and the sophisticated finish, that make the new MINI so unique, reflecting the premium standard of the brand in every respect.
Even more distinctive than before: unmistakable features of MINI design.

In its dimensions, the new MINI has grown slightly over the size of the first generation. The larger dimensions at the front serve inter alia to fulfil future safety standards and requirements, with the new MINI Cooper being 60 millimetres or 2.87´´ longer than its predecessor, the new MINI Cooper S 61 millimetres or 2.36´´ longer.

In the words of MINI’s Chief Designer Gert Hildebrand, “we have set off this increase in size optically by working on various exterior details”. Following the philosophy of “moving from the original to the original”, Hildebrand and his team have re-designed the entire car while preserving and authentically updating the characteristic look of the MINI.

As a result, the new MINI is characterised, as before, by short body overhangs front and rear as well as large wheels highlighting the muscular sideline of the car. Features naturally retained are the unmistakable highlights of the MINI such as the hexagonal radiator grille, the large, round headlights moved far to the outside, the complete “band” of glass stretching round the passenger compartment, as well as the diagonal seam between the engine compartment lid and the side direction indicators clearly bearing testimony to the welding seams at the same point on the classic Mini. And another feature virtually natural on the car is the size, position and arrangement of the upright, almost vertical rear light clusters.

The front end of the new MINI is also characterised by the position lights and foglamps beneath the main headlights. Indeed, these additional light units serve as “beauty spots” in the face of the new MINI, while the direction indicator lights are now integrated in the headlight units themselves.

The MINI Cooper S differs from the MINI Cooper inter alia through its even more muscular powerdome and its opening in the engine compartment lid. On both model variants, vertical air flow edges on the C-pillars and individual spoilers at the rear end of the roof enhance the level of aerodynamics to an even higher standard than before.
The typical MINI Center Speedo re-interpreted.

The changes in the interior design of the new MINI are far more significant than on the exterior. Both the design of the control units and the special surfaces inside the car clearly symbolise the high level of technical excellence and the outstanding premium quality of the new MINI. The dominating geometric elements are circles and straight lines skilfully combined with one another, round instruments and air vents, for example, being arranged attractively on the dashboard subdivided horizontally into three levels.

This clear focus on clear shapes and design elements gives the interior a particularly sturdy, functional and purist, but also light and generous look. Sophisticated, high-quality materials and soft surface contours, finally, round off the characteristic ambience of the interior in the new MINI.

The most striking and conspicuous feature within the cockpit of the new MINI is the Center Speedo even larger than in the former model. This central display and control instrument, acknowledged for a long time as an icon in the interior design of the MINI, has not only grown in size, but also in functional significance.

Hence, the Center Speedo now comprises not only the analogue speedometer, but also all entertainment and, as an option, navigation functions. With the entire centre console becoming even slimmer and more subdued as a result, the footwells are correspondingly larger. The door and ignition key, finally, is now a round signal sensor in typical MINI design, with the driver pressing a start/stop button to switch the engine on and off.
New petrol engines, complete range of safety features.

Displacing 1.6 litres, the four-cylinder turbocharged power unit of the MINI Cooper S now develops an even more impressive 128 kW/175 hp, the right kind of power to turn the MINI Cooper S into a truly outstanding experience in motoring fun. The engine is boosted in power by means of a twin-scroll turbocharger driven by the separate emission flow from two cylinders at a time. As a result, the turbocharger serves to boost engine power significantly from low engine speeds, providing a truly impressive effect: The 1.6-litre four-cylinder featured in the MINI Cooper S accelerates the car with the kind of power and performance otherwise to be found only in much larger normal-aspiration models.

The MINI Cooper also boasts a 1.6-litre power unit, this time, however, with normal aspiration and maximum output of 88 kW/120 hp. Intake valve control featuring the BMW Group’s unique VALVETRONIC technology is fully variable, valve stroke and opening times being adjusted infinitely and with electronic management to the respective power requirements. This innovative valve control ensures not only a particularly high standard of responsiveness and superior motoring refinement, but also superior fuel economy and optimised emission management.

Compared with the MINI Cooper, the chassis and suspension of the MINI Cooper S is a lot firmer and more dynamic. And as an option both models are available with sports suspension for an even higher standard of fun and enjoyment at the wheel.

Reflecting the MINI’s commitment to premium, both models come with a wide range of safety features. Six airbags, for example, are naturally featured as standard to ensure comprehensive occupant protection on all seats. Active safety of the highest calibre is ensured in critical situations, in turn, by ABS anti-lock brakes, EBD Electronic Brake Force Distribution, CBC Cornering Brake Control, ASC+T Automatic Stability Control + Traction standard on the Cooper S and with on-off control by the driver, as well as DSC Dynamic Stability Control.

The Brake Assistant in the new MINI reliably detects application of the brakes in an emergency and builds up maximum brake pressure at the fastest conceivable rate. Yet another new function is Hill Assist uphill starting-off assistance combined with DSC, which activates the brakes when setting off on a gradient to prevent the car from rolling back.

The new MINI takes up the overwhelming success of its predecessor already accounting for sales of more than 800,000 units and immensely popular among a growing community of MINI aficionados the world over. And applying the high standards of quality, technology and safety consistently upheld by the BMW Group, the new MINI, more than ever before, underlines its claim to leadership in this segment.

2007 Kia Cee'd On The Streets

These are the very first photos of the Kia Cee'd on the streets of Korea. The car looks smaller than the European Ford Focus, VW Golf and Vauxhall/Opel Astra but it could still win our European hearts with its good looks and hopefully low prices. More info on the way soon.
