Leaked documents say the car will underpin the Insignia architecture and will be produced in Russelsheim, Germany. Since the Insignia platform doesn't support rear-wheel-drive, we expect standard models to be front-wheel-drive, while the range-topping performance-orientated VXR/OPC models may be equipped with all-wheel-drive and a turbocharged 2.8 litre 321bhp (325PS/239kW) V6 petrol engine that develops a muscular 435Nm (321lb-ft) of torque.
Expect styling hints to be taken off the Opel GTC concept before hitting showrooms with a £20,000 (€22,200) price-tag.
