Mulally believes that with the new name, the more customers who recognize the car, thereby increasing sales.

Changes in the new Sable from the existing Montego includes a new front with Milan inspired headlamp and satin aluminum exterior mirror and door handle accents, and new LED taillights. Also new is the addition of 3.5 L Cyclone engine of the Ford Edge, and the replacement of the continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a conventional counter criticism of the Montego being underpowered.
