Renault responds over job loss fears (FR)

A spokesman for Renault has said the company won't axe any jobs in France as it chose to produce two new engines in Romania and Spain.

A daily French newspaper broke the story by saying the production of a low-fuel-consumption engine in Romania would lead to 200 – 400 jobs been chopped in Douvrin, Northern France.

Renault has practically promised that there will be no job losses, site closures, or redundancies, stating "this especially applies to Douvrin." The spokesman said the firms new H4 low-fuel-consumption engine will be built in Romania and the new H5 engine in Spain.
