Ford Fiesta is a front wheel drive supermini car by the Ford Motor Company. It is one of the company's most successful car after selling more than twelve million units,. It found its break in the 1979 Monte Carlo Rally where it was driven by Roger Clark, supported by Jim Porter, Ari Vatanen and David Richards. Since then, Ford Fiesta became a sensation in rally driving form different parts of the world. The car also continued enhancing their unit to get more achievements in many competitions. In 2007, the Pirtek Rally Team intorduced the Ford Fiesta Super 2000 rally car intended to compete at the Australian Rally Championship. In United Kingdom, Ford Fiesta became common in many club level motorsport series. It also has its own series called Ford Fiesta Championship.
Ford Fiesta collected several awards from different corners. It was the winner of UK design Council in 1978, 2004's Best Small Car in Australia, Car of the year in Brazil by the Auto Esporte Magazine. What Car's best Used Supermini for 2006, Car of the Year for 1989 and 2009 and Car of the Year and Bet Supermini Car by the Auto Express Magazine for 2009.
When it comes to sales, the awards speak for it. Since its launch 33 years ago, it has already passed the 3.5 million record in Britain. It also the cars most popular new car in 1990, 1991, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2009.
Now let's move on the to the Subaru Impreza. It is a compact first introduced in 1993. Compared to other vehicles with the same size, only Impreza can offer AWD. The car is also the most successful car of Subaru. It debuted at the 1993 1000 Lakes Rally where it immediately achieve a podium. Colin McRae was one of the first rally drivers to drive a Subaru Impreza. He teamed up with Ari Vatanen of Finland wherein they finished at second in 1993 Rally New Zealand. Then they recruited the tested champion racer, Carlos Sainz and he gave them their inaugural victory in the 1994 Acropolis Rally. They went on continue to conquer the race track in the following years. They won three consecutive WRC constructor's title, from 1995 to 1997. Subaru Impreza also had driver's championship for McRae(1995), Richard Burns(2001) and Peter Solberg(2003).
Wheels Magazine named them Car of the Year for 2000. And in 2002, Car and Driver Magazine enlisted them in their 10 best list, that went on until 2003.
