VW Tiguan Track and Avenue (2010) released

The 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan Track and Avenue

Volkswagen has released the luxury VW Tiguan Track and Avenue in to the European market, starting at €38,000. No plans to bring the car to the UK.Even when you buy a compact SUV, it’s nice to have the option of some luxury toys. And car makers like to offer range-topping cars with lots of toys added and throw a new moniker in to the mix. Ford have a range-topping Kuga in the shape of the Individual, and Volkswagen has now pulled the same trick with the VW Tiguan bu adding the ‘Track and Avenue’ to the mix.

The Tiguan Track and Venue comes with some of the sport body kit you get on the Tiguan R-Line, and throws in stuff like ‘Heavy Wax’ leather trim – which is supposedly the softest there is – and sports seats; upgraded sound system and full climate control. To see where you’re pointing your new luxury compact SUV you also get fog lights and cornering bi-xenons.

On the outside the Track and Avenue comes with a set of 19″ Savannah alloys and a couple of custom paint jobs – ‘Oryx White Pearl Effect’ and ‘Island Grey Pearl Effect’. You also get a 25 degree off-road font end, the ‘Sporty’ bits and a silver coloured rear diffuser.

Engine choices are the 2.0 litre TFSI and a pair of 2.0 litre TDIs. Both auto and manual ‘boxes are available. Prices start at €38k, which is a not inconsiderable amount for a compact SUV, even one as good as the Tiguan. But VW assure us that represents a significant saving over specifying the extras on any model in the range.

It would appear that VW currently have no plans to market the Track and Avenue in the UK.
