At a MSRP of $46,100 – $83,345, the 2008 ZR1 Corvette is the fastest car in Corvette’s history. Compared to other sports cars on the market, it is moderately inexpensive. The ZR1 is said to be the first production Corvette to reach a top speed of at least 200 mph.
The 2008 ZR1 Corvette is a two-seat sports car available as a targa-roof coupe, convertible, or high-performance Z06 hardtop coupe. The coupe and convertible have a 430 hp LS3 6.2-liter V-8 engine and six-speed manual transmission. An optional dual-mode exhaust boosts the horsepower to 436 hp. The ZR1 Corvette is based on the Corvette Z06′s aluminum chassis, but there are a number of slow body panels. The fuel economy range is 26 MPG/Hwy and 16 MPG/City.
A few of the many mechanical and exterior features include: active handling electronic stability, ABS and driveline traction control, rack and pinion steering, 4- wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS), 2-doors, composite body material, sunroof, 18″ silver alloy wheels.
A few of the standard interior features include: voice activated navigation system, radio and CD player as well as MP3 capability, THEFTLOCK theft deterrent radio, keyfob (all doors,) Remote keyless entry, and OnStar In-Vehicle Assistance.
The ZR1 is ready to stare down the world’s elite supercars on both road and track, and its price of $105,000 represents a giddy bargain among ultra-high-performance automobiles. If the idea of dropping six figures at a Chevrolet dealership seems akin to
buying a $15,000 Rolex at Wal-Mart, one stab of the accelerator pedal should serve as a reminder that not only is the ZR1 the best Corvette ever, but it is also among the best sports cars available today.” Caranddriver.com
