Ford Motor Company announced that it will unveil its new 2011 Ford Mustang GT at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. The 2011 Ford Mustang GT will be powered by a 412-HP 5.0L V8 engine. The new 5.0L V-8 engine produces 390 ft/lbs of torque because of its dual overhead cam (DOHC) and four-valve per cylinder design. The peak horsepower of this hot sports car is attained at 6,500 rpm.

The engine’s internal components consist of a forged steel full counterweight crankshaft as well as four bolt main bearings with increased performance connecting rods and pistons. The new aluminum heads will feature twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) that adjusts the valve-train in milliseconds.

It will also feature tuned exhaust headers which permits the engine to breathe easier. As well, the 2011 Mustang GT will be available with either a six speed automatic (6R80), or a six speed manual (MT82) transmission. It is expected that powerful roadster will accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds. With the six-speed manual transmission, the fuel economy range of the 2011 GT is 18 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

Constructed of aluminum, the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L is a lightweight super fast car. As well, it will come with standard new instruments such as a speedometer that reads up to 160 mph and a tachometer that reads to 8,000 rpm.

New technological features include: MyKey™ programmable vehicle key, universal garage door opener, message center, new electric power assist steering (EPAS) system which gets rid of the drag of an engine-operated hydraulic power steering pump. It also features a four person seating capacity bucket front seats, cloth upholstery, 6-way power driver seat, height adjustable driver seat, as well as aerodynamic enhancement that includes an added rear deck-lid seal,

modified underbody shields, new front fascia, taller air dam, and tire spats on the rear wheels. Exterior features include: variable intermittent wipers privacy glass, alloy 16 x 7.0 inch tire rims, a full size reduced steel spare tire wheel, and a power convertible roof glass rear window. Safety features include: child seat anchors, ventilated front disc / solid rear disc brakes, and an anti-theft alarm system. Mustang lovers are going to be thrilled with the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L.
