2011 Honda Civic Si Sedan amazing

Honda carmaker has released its new sedan concept named as 2011 Honda Civic Si Concept. These are defined by clean-yet-powerful lines with a steeply raked windshield, wide stance, and pronounced character lines along the profile. It brings an aggressive behavior on a more angular breast fascia, engagement grille and a pointed rear roofline that currents swimmingly into the trunk.

New 2011 Honda Jazz

2011 Honda Jazz Front 580x435 wallpaperWith the addition of the Honda Jazz Hybrid model, the rest of the Jazz model range has been given some styling and detail changes to enhance its already strong B-segment credentials.

Over 500,000 customers have felt the benefits of the innovative sector crossing Honda Jazz and the latest changes to the range will only enhance the experience. The focus has been on maintaining the key customer benefits of flexibility, practicality and reliability and enhancing fuel economy, emissions, ride comfort and style.

2011 Honda Jazz 580x435 wallpaperOne of the biggest changes is the return of the CVT transmission to the Honda Jazz range with the first European use of a different form of variable transmission. The CVT in the Honda Jazz has been enhanced by fitting a torque converter to the gearbox, giving increased efficiency and improved control at low speeds.

The use of a slope sensor allows the box to decide when the car should gently creep forward and when it should not, helping the driver retain maximum control. The CVT-based transmission proved very popular in the previous generation of the Honda Jazz and its return was prompted by requests from loyal customers who enjoyed its smooth shifting characteristics and ease of driving.

2011 Honda Jazz Rear 580x435 wallpaperThis gearbox is different to the one used in the Honda Jazz Hybrid model, which because of its different requirements does not adopt a torque converter unit.

Inside the most noticeable change is the adoption of a darker dashboard material in a single colour, which is combined with a new seat fabric to enhance the ambience of the cabin. Dash lighting is now unified in a single orange colour, which provides a strong contrast with the darker dashboard. Chrome rings now define the air vents, instruments and climate control display (where fitted). For the first time in the European Honda Jazz, leather seats are available as a factory fitted option.

2011 Honda Jazz Side 580x435 wallpaperTo compliment the launch of the Jazz Hybrid model, the conventionally powered Honda Jazz has also had some small reductions in CO2 values and improved fuel economy. The new CVT gearbox has matched the economy and emissions of the previous i-Shift 1.4-litre model, with a CO2 value below that of the manual model at just 125 g/km. The 1.2-litre engined car, now emits just 123 g/km of CO2 and uses 5.3 l/100km of petrol. The larger 1.4 engine range has emissions starting at 126 g/km with 5.5 l/100km fuel economy on a combined cycle.

2012 Honda Civic snapped uncovered

The ninth-generation 2012 Honda Civic was caught uncovered on the back of a car carrier trailer in Suzuka Japan.

NoticiasAutomotivas.com.br reports that the vehicles on the trailer, which include Fit and Insight models, are headed to the U.S. as indicated by the left-hand drive and amber turn signals. Furthermore, the Civic looks practically the same as the recently revealed Civic sedan concept at the North American International Auto Show this past January with the exception of mesh grilles, smoked headlamps and softer lines.

Under the hood, power is expected to be provided by the same 1.8-liter petrol unit. Other engines include a natural gas variant and a hybrid. The latter is slated to adopt the newest Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system which will be powered by a lithium-ion battery - a first for a Honda. Honda's Eco Assist is expected to be applied to the entire model range - good for a 10 percent savings in fuel economy.

Latest rumors place the 2.4-liter unit found in the Acura TSX into the sporty Civic Si model. Power output is speculated to be between 200 and 210 hp while torque gets a healthy increase to 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) thanks to the extra displacement.

The 2012 Civic will go on sale this summer. See source link below for more photos.

Honda Fit / Jazz Shuttle previewed

Honda has released a web preview of all-new Fit Shuttle for Japan. Known as the Jazz in some parts of the world including Europe and Australia, Honda has taken the five-door hatchback subcompact car and extended it to become a compact MPV.

The Fit Shuttle employs a center-tank layout packaging arrangement to create more interior and luggage space in a compact body. In addition to a 1.5-liter gasoline model, Honda will also offer a 1.3 hybrid model equipped with the compact and lightweight IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system which will be the first wagon-type hybrid model in its class.

The Fit Shuttle is set to launch in Japan this March. No word yet about other markets. We've added some leaked magazine scans for your viewing pleasure.

Honda: Ridgeline Isn’t Dead Yet

2011 Honda Ridgeline

In 2010, Toyota sold some 106,200 Tacoma pickups. Chevrolet sold nearly 32,650 Colorado pickups, despite the models seven year old design. Honda, on the other hand, sold just 16,142 Ridgeline pickups, which had many critics speculating that the death of the Ridgeline was imminent. Not so, says Honda, who insists that the Ridgeline pickup has a strong following among Honda devotees. That may be true, but devotion, in this case, isn’t translating into sales. Honda’s Executive Vice President, John Mendel, told USA Today that Honda, “has a ways to go with the Ridgeline”, fueling speculation that a next generation model could indeed be in the cards.

I reviewed the 2011 Honda Ridgeline last year, and I’ll even admit to nearly buying one in 2008. It isn’t a bad truck if your expectations are modest, and it’s got numerous features that make it more livable as a daily driver than other mid-size pickups. Interior storage space, for example, is more than generous and the rear seats stow to give you a flat loading area behind the front seats. The locking trunk, complete with drain, is a really cool idea and the bed is big enough to haul a surprising amount of cargo (unless you plan on carting full sheets of drywall or plywood, that is). Behind the wheel the Ridgeline drives more like a big sedan than a truck, but that may be part of its downfall. If you want an AWD truck to get around the city, the Ridgeline is up to the task; if you want an AWD truck to take you out where the busses don’t run, the Ridgeline may not be up to the task. Personally, I hope they keep it around. I actually have a soft spot for the Ridgeline, funky looks and all.
