America's top 10 most stolen vehicles in 2007 (U.S)

Thieves from the United States seem to steal Japanese cars, rather than American cars. According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau’s (NICB) theft report study that examines data reported to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), the most reported stolen vehicle in 2007 in the States was the 1995 Honda Civic. In Australia, it seems that the 1996-'99 Hyundai Excel is popular amongst fugitives, meanwhile, in the UK, criminals take anything that is anything.

7 cars out of the top 10 list are Japanese. Surprisingly, the Japanese car manufacture, Honda appears twice. On the brighter side, the FBI preliminary Uniform Crime Report (UCR) data reveals that vehicle theft in the U.S has fallen by 8.9% in 2007, with final data set to be released later this year.
